1931 Duesenberg Model J Weymann "Tapertail" Speedster
Originally ordered by a customer to be designed by Gordon Buerig and built by Weymann. One of America's premier designers, Gordon Buehrig penned two Speedster designs for the Weymann Body Company. The first was for short wheelbase chassis and known as the 'Tapertail' Speedster, and the second for a supercharged long wheelbase chassis, dubbed the 'Fishtail' Speedster. The featured 'Tapertail' was Buehrig's favourite as the Speedster shape looked more at home on the shorter chassis. The lack of running boards and the sweep panel paintscheme add further elegance to Buehrig's design. |
